Petrochemical & Chemical Plant Instrumentation

Refinery and chemical process lines carry hydrocarbons, sour gas, amine, caustic and steam, often hot and under vibration. CHANGSHA RUNDA HITECH CO., LTD. supplies needle, ball, gauge, manifold, check and safety valves, filters and fittings for isolation, throttling, venting and pressure reduction. Bodies are 316 or 316L stainless steel, connections 1/16 to 1 in with NPT or BSPP/BSPT threads, pressures to 6,000 psi (413 bar).

Service conditions that set the specification

Fluid chemistry decides the specification before line pressure. Hydrocarbon, caustic, amine and wet acid gas streams attack different parts of one valve: the seat, stem tip, packing and body gasket. State the fluid, its concentration and whether water is present.

Temperature is the second constraint. Steam-traced lines run hot, then cool. PTFE packing suits lines to 500 °F (260 °C), PEEK reaches 600 °F (315 °C) and graphite covers 1,200 °F (648 °C). Body pressure falls as temperature rises.

Isolation, manifolds and loop accessories

Bar-stock needle valves handle isolation, venting and throttling on impulse and gauge lines; ball valves give quarter-turn shutoff; plug, purge and bleed valves release trapped volume. Check valves stop reverse flow and safety valves protect small-bore sections.

Gauge valves come in straight (SGBV) and angle (SGRV) patterns with a 1/2 in NPT female port. Manifolds combine isolate, vent and equalise functions: 2-valve, 3-valve for differential pressure transmitters and 5-valve, in direct-mount and remote-mount patterns.

Materials, filters and ordering

Inline filters with 0.5 to 90 micron sintered 316 stainless elements sit upstream of analysers and flow meters. Regulators hold instrument air, nitrogen and sample pressure, and double-ferrule, threaded and weld fittings form the impulse tubing.

R-LOK quotes a model code, price and delivery date. Material certificates with heat numbers, dimensional inspection reports, test records and a certificate of origin are supplied on request. Manifolds are nitrogen tested before dispatch.

Standards referenced: Pressure and temperature ratings referenced to ASME B16.34 practice for valves where the project specification requires it; Impulse tubing and small-bore piping practice referenced to ASME B31.3; Sour-service material selection referenced to NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 where the medium and specification call for it.

Typical duties: Crude, vacuum and hydrotreating unit instrument lines; Catalytic cracking, reforming and alkylation instrumentation; Amine, glycol and caustic dosing circuits; Steam, condensate and steam-traced impulse lines; Analyser houses and sampling panels; Instrument air, nitrogen and hydraulic supply skids.

Frequently asked questions

How do I choose packing and seat material for hot hydrocarbon service?

Start from the maximum continuous temperature and the fluid. PTFE packing covers service to 500 F (260 C) and suits most hydrocarbon lines. PEEK extends the range to 600 F (315 C). Graphite suits steam-traced lines to 1,200 F (648 C).

Can you supply NPT and BSPP threads in the same order?

Yes. NPT ends follow ASME B1.20.1 with size codes 2N to 16N, and BSPT or BSPP ends follow ISO 7-1 with codes 2R to 16R. Metric tube ends use 6 mm to 20 mm codes. Both families are supplied in the same body.

What documents come with an export order?

On request we issue material certificates with heat numbers, dimensional inspection reports and test records, plus a certificate of origin. Manifolds are nitrogen pressure tested before dispatch. Name the document list in your purchase order.
