A gauge valve isolates a pressure gauge or transmitter from the process. A manifold does the same job for a differential pressure transmitter and adds bleed, equalising and calibration functions in one body. R-LOK gauge valves and 2-, 3- and 5-valve manifolds are supplied by CHANGSHA RUNDA HITECH CO., LTD in 316 stainless steel, 1/2 in NPT ports, rated to 6,000 psi (414 bar).

How the valves work
A gauge valve is a bar-stock needle valve between the process tapping and the instrument. Closing it lets you remove a gauge without draining the line. The angle pattern (SGRV) mounts onto a gauge; the block-and-bleed pattern vents the trapped volume.
A manifold builds the same functions into one body. A 2-valve unit gives isolate plus vent. A 3-valve unit adds an equalising valve between the high and low sides for commissioning a transmitter. A 5-valve unit adds a second isolation valve on each side.
Series and connections
The gauge valve range has two body styles: SGBV straight and SGRV angle. Both use a 1/2 in NPT female instrument port and 1/2 in or 3/4 in NPT male process threads, so the valve screws straight into an existing tapping.
The catalogue lists SGBV-M8N-F8N and SGBV-M12N-F8N (straight) and SGRV-M8N-F8N and SGRV-M12N-F8N (angle). The SGRV body adds a bleed port on the instrument side. A flanged instrument outlet version is listed under series SGBV2.
Materials and pressure limits
Body, bonnet and stem are 316 stainless to ASTM A276 or A479, the seat metal-to-metal and the V-tip stem hardened 316. Manifold stems use a non-rotating tip. Direct-mount bodies use 41.4 mm (1.63 in) bolt spacing and 7/16-20 bolts.
The manifold table gives 6000 psi at 100 degF, then 4130 psi at 450 degF, 3980 psi at 500 degF, 3760 psi at 600 degF and 1715 psi at 1,200 degF; PTFE has a 500 degF limit, graphite 1,200 degF.
Standards referenced: Taper pipe threads referenced to ASME B1.20.1 (NPT) with BSPT equivalents to ISO 7-1; Pressure ratings referenced to ASME B31.3 process piping at the stated temperatures; Flange dimensions for direct-mount manifolds referenced to ASME B16.5.
Typical duties: DP transmitter installation on wellhead and separator skids; Refinery impulse lines for instrument isolation; Steam service manifolds on boiler instrumentation; Vent and drain in pharmaceutical process lines; Natural gas metering and pressure regulating stations; High-purity gas panels sharing the same bar-stock bodies.

Frequently asked questions
How do I choose between a 3-valve and a 5-valve manifold?
A 3-valve manifold suits clean service, where the transmitter can be isolated and bled through the equaliser. Specify a 5-valve manifold when both sides must be blocked and bled independently, for example on steam service. Both use a 3.2 mm or 6.4 mm bore.
Which thread standards can you supply instead of NPT?
Both are listed: NPT codes 2N to 16N and BSPT codes 2R to 16R, covering 1/8 in to 1 in. Tube ends from 6 mm to 20 mm are available. State the standard in your enquiry; NPT and BSPT do not interchange in the field.
Which documents come with a shipment?
Each shipment normally includes material certificates with heat numbers for wetted parts, a dimensional inspection report, the nitrogen pressure test record for manifolds and the packing list. Material certificates to EN 10204 3.1 can be arranged when the order is placed.
